Location: Start at Garfield County Fairgrounds, heading south on the pathways to thewest end of Town of Rifle onto W 3rd St. Bike race leads to Hubbard Mesa trail network and finish there. Run race stays around town and finishes same location as start.

- Bike: Various distances up to 22.5 miles, depending on category/course.
- Run: 5k with various course challenges / features.

Introduction:
Come celebrate Western Adventure Weekend by participating in the Roan Cliff Chaos Adventure Races (an adventure mountain bike race or adventurous 5k run)! Stay around for plenty of activities downtown Rifle, such as music, beer garden, rock climbing wall, and more!

Bike Details:
There are 3 different course options available: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced. Some of the categories will use same portions of the course, while the more advanced will be reserved for those comfortable with the distance and the technical features. All bike participants will roll out together out of town across Rifle Bypass into the Hubbard Mesa trail area. Once there, the race begins! Find and collect your course destination markers – maps will be released at the event.
It is recommended you pick up the maps and your numbers Friday evening, so you have time to study the map and come up with a strategy for the fastest/best way to collect these destination markers and return to the finish line. Once at the finish line, we will collect your destination markers. If you are missing any for your category, you will be penalized 60 minutes for each missing marker. Winners will be based on fastest total time of riding time and markers. Come prepared for your preferred distance of up to 22.5 miles with your choice of difficulty! Bike race starts at 8:00am.

Run Details:
5k with various challenges and fun distractions along the way. The course is primarily on paved roads/sidewalk with 10% trail. Run race starts Sunday, Sept 23rd at 8:00am. See map below for deets.

- 7:00pm – 9:00pm: Music at Ute Theatre.
- Saturday:
- 6:00am – 7:30am: Last minute registration / number pick up @ Garfield County Fairgrounds.
- 7:50am: Racer’s Meeting at start area in Garfield County Fairgrounds.
- 8:00am: Bike race start!
- Bike race finish approx. 9:30am for fast participants / 12:00pm for last.
- 1:00pm – 1:30pm: Awards at Garfield County Fairgrounds.
- 5:00pm – 7:00pm: Runner’s registration and packet pickup.
- Sunday:
- 6:00am – 7:30am: Last minute registration / number pick up @ Garfield County Fairgrounds.
- 7:50am: Racer’s Meeting at start area in Garfield County Fairgrounds.
- 8:00am: Run race start!

MTB Adventurer – Beginner: For beginners and/or juniors; 10 - 13 miles.
MTB Explorer – Intermediate: For intermediate riders; 13 - 16 miles.
MTB Extreme – Advanced: For experienced rider comfortable with technical features; 17 - 21 miles.
5k Adventure Run – Run race; open to all ages; age group award breakdown shown below.

------------------ REFUND / CHANGES / TRANSFER / CANCELLATION POLICY --------------
REFUNDS: Refunds will only be issued in the event the race is cancelled. If the race is cancelled more than 30 days before the race, all entrants will receive a full refund of their entry fee. Refunds for events cancelled fewer than 30 days before the race may be less than the full entry fee paid, or may include an entry credit as part of the refund. Transfers of entry to another MAD Racing event or another athlete will be allowed as listed below. Online processing fees cannot be refunded.
TRANSFER ENTRY TO ANOTHER EVENT: You may request a cancellation of your entry and receive a redemption code for 75 percent your entry fee. You may use this redemption code toward your entry into another MAD Racing event. Your cancellation request must come no later than 30 days before the event, or before the event sells out, whichever comes first. You will have one year from the race date to redeem your credit. Online processing fees, charitable donations, license fees, or other items paid for during the registration process will be forfeited. Online processing fees may apply to the balance due with the transfer.
SERIES ENTRIES: If you have entered a series, you may not transfer individual series events to another athlete. Please contact us with questions regarding transfers of a portion of your series entry.
TRANSFER ENTRY TO ANOTHER ATHLETE / CHANGE CATEGORIES: You may transfer your entry to another athlete or change your category until 10 days before the event for a $20 fee. No transfers between athletes will be allowed in the final 9 days before the event. All transfers of online entries must be processed online before the transfer deadline. Items the original entrant may have paid for, such as license fees, donations, etc. will not be transferred. Depending on the date of the transfer, option to select a new shirt size may not be available. Online processing fees may apply to the balance due with the transfer.

UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFER OF YOUR ENTRY FEE will result in disqualification/removal from the event, and restrictions for all parties involved from participating in future MAD Racing and affiliated sanctioned events.
EVENT MODIFICATIONS: We reserve the right to alter or shorten the course for safety reasons including weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No refunds will be issued for alterations of the planned route, including the cancellation of a portion of the event (for example, cancellation of the swim in the event of lightning), or if the race is halted mid-race by weather or other circumstances.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If an event is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the scheduled date, a full refund of the registration fee (excluding processing fees) will be given to each entrant. If an event is canceled fewer than 30 days prior to the event, the refund amount may be less than the registration fee paid, or may be a partial credit for a future event, as determined by the race organizer. If an event is postponed, all entries will be transferred to the new date. If event is cancelled due to weather, no refunds are guaranteed.
